Community Facilitators are an essential part of our team. They provide in-home care to our clients, providing support to enable them to live as independently, and healthily, as possible.

    Your key responsibilities in this role:

  • Working with diverse clients with varying support needs
  • Develop comprehensive plans with your clients, including personal budgeting, diet, and goals
  • Administer medication
  • Provide reports on client welfare
  • Support your clients in gaining access to community groups and services
  • Provide housing-related support – identifying safety-related issues, reporting maintenance faults, provide risk assessments, cooking, and cleaning - ensuring we are responsive to our client's needs
  • Work with our internal team to identify areas for our own improvement and growth to be the best we can be, for our community

    What we need from you:

    As our Community Facilitator, your job has a broad reach so you’ll need to love variety, but most importantly you need to be a person who loves to care for people. You are empathetic, patient, a great listener and communicator, and genuinely care about improving the wellbeing of others.

    Here are a few other bits that will help you be successful:

  • You MUST have a full NZ driving license to apply
  • First Aid Certificate – we can help you obtain this if you haven’t got it already!
  • Previous experience supporting someone with an intellectual disability would be beneficial, but not required
  • Prepared to work flexible hours, including weekends, and sleepovers
  • Good computer and numeric literacy, as well as good spoken/written English
  • Exceptional attention to detail whilst never losing sight of the big/long term plan
  • Due to the nature of the work, we also have strict regulations as we are unable to consider applications for certain criminal convictions, and you will also be required to complete a drug/alcohol test, and ACC checks.
