Job Description

ConneXu is seeking an experienced and competent Health and Safety Coordinator that can hit the ground running and take complete ownership of ensuring all health and safety functions across the organization.

    Responsibilities:

  • Complete staff inductions and ongoing health and safety reporting
  • Accident and incident investigation
  • Monitoring staff training and qualifications and making bookings.
  • Ordering and keeping first aid and safety resources stocked
  • Reviewing and maintaining SOP’s
  • Keeping hazard registers up to date
  • Completing all health and safety associated paperwork and documentation and filing accordingly
  • Holding health and safety meetings to give updates and share experiences and findings.
  • Site visits and audits

    What you will need to have:

  • At least 2 years (minimum) experience working in a health and safety-focused role.
  • Full class 1 driver’s license
  • Clean criminal history
  • The ability to complete accident investigation.
  • Sound understanding of the Hierarchy of controls.
  • Ability to treat health and safety matters with the utmost professionalism and empathy.
  • Good bookkeeping skills with experience in office, excel, word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to lead from the front and drive a great health and safety culture.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and independently on health and safety matters and concerns.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Swiss Cheese accident causation model.
  • Ability to implement the ICAM method to incident and accident investigation.
